US Regional Network

This study used photo-elicitation to engage with trans and non-binary youth in the U.S. in qualitative research. The use of images promotes dialogue and potentially introduces new dimensions to qualitative research beyond the traditional interview method.

The primary aims of this study were to:

  1. Enhance the understanding of gender sexual minority youth within the context of their online and offline lives;

  2. Better understand the various experiences of identity on the axis of culture, geography, immigration status, and race within the U.S.;

  3. Explore the ways youth's identity contributes to resilience

Using participant-driven semi-structured interviews, the researcher made participants aware of a set of questions and asks participants to compile new or existing photos (5-10 images) relevant to the questions.

All interviews have been completed. Results will be posted soon. To contact us, email us at snapshotnationalstudy@gmail.com.
