Mathijs (Mat) Lucassen is a Reader in the School of Health and Medical Sciences at City St George’s, University of London in the United Kingdom. He is also the co-director for the university’s Centre for Mental Health Research. Mat’s clinical background is in occupational therapy and prior to an academic career he worked in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Mat’s PhD, awarded in 2012, consisted of an evaluation of cognitive behavioural therapy, in serious game format, for the treatment of depressive symptoms in LGBTQ+ adolescents. His primary research interests include CAMHS and mental health services workforce development, e-mental health and LGBTQ+ adolescent mental health.
