Sujith Kumar Prankumar

Sujith is a health sociologist working at the intersection of culture, health and medicine. His research and teaching are grounded in an interdisciplinary background spanning sociology, religion, human rights, philosophy and law. He is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at King's College London's Department of Global Health and Social Medicine, and was a Senior Research Associate at the Kirby Institute at the University of New South Wales (2022-2025). He has convened undergraduate courses on violence, resistance and social change; and on decolonising research methods.
Sujith completed his PhD at the Centre for Social Research in Health (University of New South Wales), and holds master’s degrees in theological and religious studies (Harvard University) and human rights (Columbia University). In addition, he holds a Graduate Certificate in Evaluation (University of Melbourne) and has received graduate training in law and philosophy.
