Thomas Freitag
Discipline: Psychiatry
I am currently a psychiatry resident at Johns Hopkins with an interest in LGBTQIA+ mental health, adolescent mental health, and psychotic illnesses. I completed my undergraduate studies in neuroscience and psychology at the University of Pittsburgh, received a Kanders-Churchill Scholarship to complete an MPhil in Public Policy at the University of Cambridge, and subsequently attended Harvard Medical School for my medical education.
I have an extensive background studying the intersections of public policy, public health, and the challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community. My research has heavily focused on the experiences of transgender and gender diverse youth, the history of legislative barriers to gender-affirming care, and the career paths of LGBTQIA-identified physicians.
