Ignacio Lozano Verduzco

Ignacio holds a PhD in Social Psychology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, if full professor at the National Pedagogic University in Mexico City where he teaches on youth and gender studies at undergraduate level and human sexuality at the graduate level. He is also level II in the National System of Researchers. Ignacio's research is particularly concerned with how emotions are produced and regulated in the lived and mental and educational wellbeing of LGBTQ+ youth, as well as what emotions deploy for classrooms and families. ignacio received the Youth Award of Mexico City in 2013, the National Research Award from the Mexican Academy of Science in 2022 and the Award on Discrimination Research in Mexico City in 2025. He is also president and founding member of the Mexican Academy of Sexual and Gender Diversity Studies.
