Vincent Sarna

Vincent Sarna graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology (2016) and Masters in Social Work (2022). His research interests focus on LGBTQIA+ participatory action research that results in the creation or updates of interventions, institutions, and policy.
He has worked on projects across a wide range of topics, such as LGBTQIA+ students’ perspectives on mentoring, photovoice analysis from youth within a Chicago Public School's cross-age mentoring program, and experiences of COVID-19 pandemic related stress amongst LGBTQIA+ emerging adults. Currently, he works for the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA) managing task forces. His task force reports focus on topics like domestic violence based firearm relinquishment, firearm prohibitors within Illinois, Illinois’ community-based corrections system, missing and murdered women and girls in Chicago, crime statistics and usage of crime data, and domestic violence fatality reviews.
