TISS

THE INAUGURAL STUDENT SYMPOSIUM
The Inaugural INQYR Symposium (TISS) was a four-day conference in Mexico City from October 30 to November 2, 2019. TISS convened researchers, students, policymakers, and non-profit organizations for a combination of workshops and presentations on cross-cultural research for LGBTQ+ youth and online engagement. Presentations included research findings, methodologies, and experiences of LGBTQ+ youth from Mexico, the US, the UK, and Canada.


TISS was hosted by the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), ActùaDF AC, and Universidad Pedagógica Nacional de México.


Highlights included:

Research with transgender and gender diverse populations: Considerations and innovations keynote address from Dr. Ashley Austin, Barry University
