We use photo-elicitation to engage with LGBTQ+ youth in qualitative research. The use of images promotes dialogue and potentially introduces new dimensions to qualitative research beyond the traditional interview method.
The primary aims of this qualitative photo-elicitation study are to:
Using participant-driven semi-structured interviews, the researcher makes participants aware of a set of questions and asks participants to compile new or existing photos (5–10 photos) relevant to the questions. We plan to interview forty LGBTQ+ youth across the US.
