There has been so much benefit to being in ISTN cohort 1, it’s difficult to say just one thing. The ISTN has given me the opportunity to work on an innovative and exciting project to follow my passion in research with LGBTQ+ communities. Every one of the training sessions has been interesting and valuable to the research that I do currently and want to do in the future. I am most grateful to the ISTN for introducing me to a network of talented and enthusiastic fellow students who I am excited to be able to continue working with going forward. Being part of the ISTN has helped me cultivate the confidence personally and professionally to take on academic challenges and foster a sense of pride in my abilities as an LGBTQ+ researcher. I feel that I will benefit from this experience in many ways as I take the next steps in my career.
